Ashley Ferguson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the state of Texas who specializes in trauma, anxiety, stress management, parenting, and domestic violence. Ashley believes therapy, specifically, group therapy can be cathartic and is often used to instill hope, help develop socialization and relational skills and creates feelings of universality. She is intentional about creating a therapeutic group environment that offers emotional safety and mutual respect. Ashley is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Ashley’s authenticity and approachable demeanor allows for you to feel safe and comfortable processing difficult emotions and experiences in a therapeutic environment. In group therapy, you can expect to process a wide range of issues and emotions as well as learn techniques and coping skills to help you manage your thoughts and emotions.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Ashley began her counseling career working with families referred to the Texas Department of Child Protective Services. She gained experience in various medical and mental health environments including DaVita Dialysis and Gardner Betts Juvenile Justice Center. Previously, Ashley worked as a Therapist specializing in Women and Children impacted by trauma and domestic violence at Genesis Women’s Shelter and Support. In addition to seeing clients through group therapy, Ashley works as one of the Upper School Counselors at the Hockaday School in North Dallas. Ashley earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Texas Tech University and her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Ashley enjoys traveling, DIY projects and spending time with her family.
